Proposal Outline

 

        I.            Intro

A.      Write about a boy and underage drinking

B.      It is important for states to protect their teenagers; therefore I propose that they put laws into action where drinking with a legal guardian should not be allowed at all so that it does not disrupt any brain patterns that are still developing, cause alcohol poisoning related deaths and by doing so risky behavior can be avoided

      II.            Body

A.      Why drinking age should be 21

                                                               i.      Fighting for our country

                                                             ii.      Able to vote

                                                            iii.      Able to marry

    III.            Conclusion

3 Solutions

There are many problems in society today and it's not just in our country. The legal drinking age in the United States is twenty-one and many people will argue against this. The solution to this problem could be a world wide drinking age.  If all the countries came together and made an agreement to set the legal age to twenty-one then this would stop the controversy between people arguing against our government policies. Another solution could be associated with health reasons because the brain is still developing until around the age of twenty-one so this could actually could be saving lives. By having the drinking age as twenty-one this is a solution to much peer pressure that is in our community today. These would appeal to people for the fact of this saving not only their lives but also their children's or loved ones. Some people are going to object to my solutions but all in all there is always going to be objection in every aspect of life.

Blog #5

          In earlier blog posts I had stated that make-up could improve a persons self esteem. With that statement I would also like to add that make-up is not the only way to make a person feel better about their-self. It is possible for a person to feel perfectly confident in their natural skin just like some feel confident with make-up on. Cultures use make-up in different  ways and there are different types of beautiful, which I will further discuss on thursday. Bullying has occurred toward some who did not wear make up which one issue that people were not aware of. My hypothesis is that I want everyone to see why make-up should be and is worn and solely that purpose. The facts and examples of culture, beauty and bullying will convince my audience, I still must acquire all of my sources before putting all of my work down in  writing. Make-up is not an enemy, make-up haters need to know that.

             For my annotated bibliography I chose to write about make up. Although I thought that I knew everything that there was to know about make up, I figured out that I still had some things to learn. A cool fact that I learned with my research is  that make up can determine whether a person is going to catch a ride or not. Another thing that i learned is that make up can take years off of a persons appearance. Makeup can also determine whether or not a person gets a job which is very important to know if job interviews have not gone as planned with women. I really enjoyed the simulation that the make up news paper had made. It used a house in comparison with a person. It stated that if a house is freshly painted on the outside with nice cut grass and clean windows as opposed to a house who's paint is peeling and not in good shape with lousy curb appeal it is going to be more approachable and have more buyers. The same goes for a woman. If she is polished, dressed and has her make up nice and neat, she is more approachable and hirable. I also learned that there was a such thing as makeup haters. People who deny the fact that using makeup can be beneficial at all are makeup haters. It was also noted that people who have self-esteem issues can be strongly benefited if they wear make up and apply it correctly. Why? because they actually can get rid of some of their deficiencies as perceived by other people. With this I close saying that I learned a lot by writing about this topic.

What is it with make up?

             Ever since I was a little girl, i was obsessed. Obsessed with make up. Why? I do not have an answer for that, but what i do have an answer for is what it is with make up that makes people want to wear it. Lets take into prospect that a girl in college has low self esteem, doesn't get the attention she really deserves, and wants to feel confident with herself. Okay, now, take this same girl and give her  a make over, cover her unwanted freckles, thin eyebrows and dull lips. I am not going to try to encourage making a mask, like some people see it. What I am trying to explain is that by enhancing facial features, a girl is more prone to  self confidence. The reason for their self confidence is that she has found an outlet to her flaws. Although she is not perfect, she feels better about her self therefore fixing her self esteem issues and learning that she has a lot of self worth, once she starts to love herself she will draw more attention. This example can correspond to males also if they have the same objectives as the ones the person in my example had. Another reason a person might want to wear make up is to impress their significant other. A lot of people think that after being with someone for long they start to lose interest and not notice when they try anymore. Well, I am here to tell you that if you have ever heard that or felt like that, it is a myth. They do notice when you do or you don't and they appreciate the effort that is put in. When going into a job interview it is important to look the best to ones ability, this may include make up which enhances the facial features of a person while making them look more presentable, confident and make the person look more approachable to consumers. With this I close in saying that i encourage the use of make up for those who might feel as if they might need a little bit of an enhancer.
